Physiotherapy, Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine in Animals

Physiotherapy, rehabilitation and sports medicine have been incorporated into veterinary medicine for many years. Their importance is increasingly recognized in orthopedics and neurology as well as in the training of canine athletes and working dogs. It has expanded as a viable treatment option for specific canine diseases including obesity, endocrine disease and heart disease. Thoroughly understanding the animal’s underlying disease or condition, highly educated specialists evaluate the patient, set up an effective treatment plan and successfully treat the patient.

It's time to become a

Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner

The University of Tennessee and our marketing partner, Schloss Seminar (that is now integrated into the newly established Veterinary Academy of Higher Learning, VAHL), are pleased to present the University of Tennessee Certificate Program in Canine Physical Rehabilitation. The University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine, Knoxville (UTC) and the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, Department of Physical Therapy cooperatively oversee this curriculum.

The University of Tennessee Certificate (UTC) Program in Canine Physical Rehabilitation was introduced in 1999 in the United States, and has subsequently spread around the world!

The certificate program in canine rehabilitation offers a series of postgraduate courses for veterinarians, physical therapists and veterinary technicians: Participants are required to participate in a supervised clinical experience and take a cumulative examination. The courses are designed to guide the practitioner through the theoretical foundations up to the clinical applications of canine rehabilitation.

After successful completion of all the online, e-learning and practical courses and after successfully passing the examination, participations will receive the title “Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner”
